When sunlight catches an ordinary object just so, or when a special color resonates with my soul -- that's what inspires me. Those unexpected moments that reach out and grab your attention and that demand to be painted!

I also enjoy painting pet portraits that attempt to capture each pet's unique personality.  I am a (mostly) retired veterinarian and never tire of being around our animal buddies. 

My husband and I live in beautiful Olalla, Washington, with our dog, Charley.   In addition to painting, I love to spend time hiking, kayaking and gardening in our glorious Pacific Northwest (and sometimes playing the ukelele or the piano!)

I paint on Arches 140 pound Cold Press watercolor paper and use a variety of professional grade transparent watercolors to achieve rich, vibrant watercolor paintings that glow with color and light.

I am a Signature Member of the Northwest Watercolor Society and active in the Peninsula Art League.
