Reflections on a Legend (Cessna 195 Businessliner)

$2,100.00

25.75” x 32”

I was visiting the Gig Harbor Vintage Aero Museum and saw a stunning 1953 Cessna 195 Businessliner that is part of their collection. It was painted a brilliant red and white, and has classic Art Deco styling details that have helped to make this vintage plane a legend. Of course, I was intrigued!

I decided to paint it but wanted to imagine it out of the hanger into a bright, sunny day, and I made the artistic decision to also change the white parts of the airplane to chrome, so they could reflect the surrounding sky and airport.

Can you identify what is in the plane’s reflections?

If you are interested, here is a link to a 48 minute video about how I painted it.

This painting was created using 140# Arches watercolor paper and a variety of professional transparent watercolors. It is hand-signed, matted and framed.

Price excludes shipping (contact me for a shipping estimate if you live outside of the Gig Harbor, WA, area.)

Painting sizes refer to unframed artwork. Frames typically add 4–8" to the length and width, depending on artwork size.
