A friend of mine, Kristin, grows flowers of all types and she brought a lovely pot of tulips from her garden to work to share with everyone. Inspiration struck and I just had to make the time to paint them! The tulips had all sorts of different shades of warm and cool greens as well as warm and cool reds. That is part of what what makes them so vibrant and luscious!
I put together a time-lapse video about painting the tulip portion of “Kristin's Tulips".
This painting was created using 140# Arches watercolor paper and a variety of professional transparent watercolors. It is hand-signed, matted and framed.
