Here Comes the Sun
One rainy morning, I was walking by my garden and saw these hydrangeas, heavy with raindrops. The day was still quite overcast, with no hope of seeing the sun that day when, without warning, the sun peaked through the clouds (what we call a "sun break" here in Washington state) and illuminated my hydrangeas. The flowers were glowing and the raindrops were shining -- wow!
I decided to paint that scene to remind me of the wonderful promise that "sun breaks" represent to us in the damp Pacific Northwest.
At first, I wasn't sure what to call this painting. Here were some of the contenders: "Hydrangeas", "Morning Dew", "Morning Showers", "After the Shower" and the somewhat campy "Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head(rangeas)". However, in the end, the title "Here Comes the Sun" says it all!
These are high quality giclee reproductions that are printed on fine art paper and come with a white border. They generally arrive at your home within 2-3 weeks of ordering, ready to be matted and framed. Most of the available sizes will fit standard frames with mats that can be found at any store or online site. When choosing a frame, the mat size should be the same as the reproduction size, and the final frame size is generally 4 - 8” larger on the width and length, depending on the size of the reproduction.
Prices for unframed reproductions include shipping.
Custom sized reproductions may be available. I can also mat and frame your reproduction for you, using archival mats and conservation-grade UV blocking acrylic fronts. Just ask me for pricing!
